Tucson, Arizona, USADanburite is a calcium-boron silicate and some of the world’s best specimens have come from this mining district around Charcas in the State of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. This superb large cabinet specimen forms a spiky cluster of vertical and outwardly pointing Danburite crystals of up to about 5.5 cm long, all with chisel terminations and a lustre of polished glass. All the crystals are opaque milky white grading to a semi-transparent termination. The matrix, which can only be seen by holding the specimen upside-down, appears to be granular milky Quartz mixed with massive Danburite and black massive Sphalerite. Under LWUV the entire specimen fluoresces mild cream. An excellent Danburite which will display beautifully.\n
