The Venero 1 quarry (aka Cadalso 1 quarry) is situated approximately 60 km (37 miles) east and slightly south of Madrid and is one of several granite quarries in the district. Venero 1 quarry is within the Veneros claim at Cadalso de los Vidrios. This interesting large miniature features Bavenite with Chlorite, Microcline and Quartz, Bavenite being a rare calcium beryllium aluminosilicate. The Bavenite forms mainly translucent, ivory, cream and cream-grey prisms on and in a matrix of mixed Chlorite group minerals together with Microcline Feldspar and Quartz.
