Vesuvianite
A single, 3.2 cm tall, prismatic crystal of gemmy, pale cerise pink Vesuvianite from the classic locality for this colour - Jeffrey mine in Québec, Canada. The crystal is mounted upright on an acrylic base for display. Despite being a single crystal, it's large size, colour, and lustre, makes it stand out and it could even be mistaken for a Tourmaline! The prism sides are glassy and bright, with vertical growth lines and areas where tiny Vesuvianite crystals coat the surface. Internally, the main crystal is translucent with many internal inclusions. A lovely, showy Vesuvianite crystal, from one of the world's most famous localities.
