A fine, single, detached crystal of Topaz from the famous pegmatite deposits at Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Standing 42 mm tall, this well-formed, terminated Topaz crystal displays interesting pleochroism, from colourless side on, to pale blue looking down the main crystal axis. The crystal shows edge wear on all sides and more significantly on the corners. The base of the crystal is a cleavage surface and, on one edge, several small areas have fractured away as can be seen in the video. A good example of the classic textbook crystal form of Topaz in a nice size specimen for handling or display.
