Erythrite
Unknown Owner
This small cabinet Erythrite from the classic Moroccan occurrence at Bou Azzer is dominated by colourful cerise glassy acicular sprays of Erythrite rather than the bladed crystals that are often seen. These acicular sprays are within a 4 cm wide cavity covering a large part of the top of the specimen. Individual crystals reach 8 mm in length and sprays to nearly 1 cm across. The matrix is a dappled dark grey and white from residual primary cobalt sulpharsenides and Quartz. A very pretty Erythrite from the world's leading locality for the species.
