Calcite on Fluorite$850.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
I have visited Ladywash mine on numerous occasions and, sadly, have never found a Calcite crystal like this one! The lovely miniature comprises of a group of two, double terminated, semi-transparent amber Calcite crystals (cleaved at the point of attachment) with a little colourless Fluorite. The Fluorite, although attached to the side of the Calcite prism, also rests on the tiniest sliver of grey limestone matrix. As is nearly always the case at Ladywash, the Fluorite contains inclusions of Pyrite and possibly other sulphides. Ladywash mine is close to the picturesque village of Eyam in the county of Derbyshire, England. The Calcite forms slightly curved faces with fairly complex and attractive surface growth patterns with a smooth waxy, yet semi-glassy lustre. This excellent Ladywash Calcite is accompanied by a detailed collector's label and a Gregory, Bottley & Lloyd stock label.
