This large, dome-like botryoidal aggregate of glossy green Malachite is from the famous Katanga Copper Crescent in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The surface texture is stunningly beautiful and oozes character, with flashes of unusual white inclusions. Many of the botryoids are smooth and glossy, but whether they are natural or from handling is not known as this specimen just cries out to be stroked and loved. At very large cabinet size this is a spectacular display specimen and is sure to draw attention when on display, even from non-mineralogists fascinated by its form and texture. This really is a high class museum quality Malachite specimen and being from one of the world's most famous copper-producing regions really tops it off.
