Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USAA small, but significant specimen of the extremely rare species Keyite, from the Type Locality at Tsumeb mine. A small thumbnail piece of oxidized Tennantite ore is coated on two sides with pale blue/sea green prismatic microcrystals of Keyite with darker green sharp Zincolivenite microcrystals. The Keyite is well crystallized, but many of the larger crystals have some damage. There are some perfect smaller crystals evident. Pale blue Keyite can also be seen as a massive veinlet cutting through the back of the specimen. Specimens of this species so rarely come up for sale and usually as tiny fragments. A really great specimen for a rare species enthusiast.
