This excellent small cabinet/large miniature is composed from blades of rich candy pink Rhodonite forming splayed clusters up to 2 cm long from Chiurucu mine in the Dos de Mayo Province of Peru. The wafer-thin blades range between 3 and 8 mm wide and re-enforce each other through their face-to-face development in diverging splayed clusters. Although the Rhodonite is dominantly a vivid candy pink, its colour does vary between lighter and darker shades, giving more depth and interest to the crystallised mass. The only matrix is a talc-like white crystalline to amorphous coating over what one would likely choose as the base.
