Like so many intensely dark mineral specimens, it is only when you take that closer look does their true beauty strike you. This group of crystallised Calcite crystals from Herja mine at Chiuzbaia in Romania is densely included with finely divided Boulangerite causing the Calcite to be uniformly jet-black. Broad lenticular Calcite crystals combine to form rose flower-like clusters, yet of a more linear than curved geometry. Sharp, perfect, silver-grey rhombs of Calcite, all less than 1 mm on edge, are sparsely sprinkled over the surface. A lovely miniature Calcite with Boulangerite from Herja mine.\n
