If this quite fabulous Cassiterite with Scheelite and Muscovite is anything to judge by, Mount Xuebaoding would appear to have much to offer! We know from mindat the area has forty-six species and this small cabinet specimen is a stunning example. Perfectly developed, glistening jet-black Cassiterite crystals form the majority of the specimen, including the completely buried matrix. The habit and metallic lustre across every surface is superb. Surrounding the Cassiterite are many clusters of Muscovite mica plates, all silver-white with a very pale greenish tint. Just in case this combination were not enough, at least three Scheelite crystals are scattered amongst the Cassiterite, two fairly granular and one with good crystal faces to about 1.5 x 1.4 cm. The specimen’s weight alone tells you it contains a lot of tin! A beautiful specimen and most reasonably priced at $500.\n
