Another unusual Smithsonite from the Spiromitros collection, this one selected and kept for the unusual chatoyant amber-color. Honestly, if this were not from this particular collection with documentation, one would immediately have to assume and label it as old Mexican material (Refugion Mine or some from San Antonio Mine). It is a unique color, not found anywhere else but a few places. It is not brown... but more a lighter shade like amber or bronze-colored, hard to describe. And, it sparkles, so has a pretty shimmering look when well lit. A gorgeous piece with a pristine display surface, from 1990-1995 finds here.
