While it looks at first like a dramatic ice-like freeform sculpture of ice, this is a solid block of topaz, sculpted only by nature. It is a surreal form, devoid of the normal sharp crystal shape we expect of topaz, except at the very tips. Complete all around, it stands vertically for display. This is from the Richard Rossi collection, and notes an acquisition date of 1964 on the back of a previous dealer label. Old style, Old material, and a really beautiful display piece! 270 grams.
