Rising dramatically 8 cm from an albite matrix, this glassy and blue aquamarine has a special aesthetic. The matrix is just right - not too much and not too little, and it is crystallized for a contrast of both geometry and of color. The beryl var. aquamarine from Shigar is largely gem-quality, with interesting formations on some of the faces demonstrating contact growths, and no damage of note. Tiny needles of schorl tourmaline accent the backside (or the front, depending on your display preference) and the blocky albite at the base appears to "hug" the aquamarine crystal. It is complete, 360 degrees all around.
