A pale sherry-colored topaz crystal from the classic granite pegmatite locality in New Hampshire. While the side faces are frosted, the top is clear and gemmy, giving the topaz an interesting look when holding it in hand. This came to Shields via the well-known East Coast thumbnail specialist Ernie Schlichter. Ernie was Shields Flynn's friend and thumbnail mentor/competitor and passed on 300 of his favorite core specimens to Shields for this collection.
