Powellite with Stilbite and Apophyllite

From a single pocket of powellite found in the summer of 2020 in Pandulena Hills, India comes this unusual cabinet-sized specimen featuring scattered clusters of amber-orange powellite mixed with cubic white apophyllite. Pale peach stilbite winds its way vertically amongst the crystals in the center of the piece. The gemmy, sharp powellites are mostly 1.1.5 cm, but several doubly-terminated clusters are here with larger crystals up to nearly 3 cm tip to tip. The amber-orange powellite crystals present on this specimen are different in geometry, style, and color from any we have seen before and have an extra bonus - fluorescence under UV! The crystals are more "pointy" than usual, and each cluster is made up of many sharp crystals in radial growth, giving them a look more like orange apophyllites than like the typical blocky powellites we have seen from other locations in Jalgaon area in Maharashtra. Powellite is most frequently found associated with calcite or scolecite, but here they are on white, blocky apophyllite crystals. Unusual, beautiful, new specimens.
