Here we have an old classic style of Mimetite from Tsumeb with yellow, radial sheaves of crystals on matrix, and sparkly crystals leaping out and up. This attractive piece has slightly divergent crystal sprays of lustrous and translucent, rich golden-yellow Mimetite to 2.2 cm in length and most have yellow-white tips. Most of the lustrous Mimetite groups diverge from a common point and fan out to the terminations. A couple of the sprays are aesthetically placed in the center of the specimen. Other than some of the crystals at the periphery, the crystals in the divergent sprays are nicely terminated. The Mimetites are perched on a sparkling, pearly-white druse of Calcite that provides great contrast. The Calcite fluoresces a lovely pastel pink under short wave UV. Ex. Charlie Key collection.
