Microcline var. Amazonite with Quartz var. Smoky$6,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Here is a classic, but unusually well-balanced pegmatite combination specimen from the Smoky Hawk Mine, all in unusual aesthetic balance. This represents an artistic arrangement of a single, gem Quartz crystal flanked by stout Amazonite crystals. It features sharp lustrous, well-formed, saturated, rich green-blue Amazonite crystals with a couple of select faces that have a thin veneer of grayish-white Albite for accent that are more obvious on the larger crystal and it produces a uniquely porcelaneous surface and texture as well. The prominent light Smoky Quartz crystal at the center of the piece is glassy and completely gem, which is unusual for the Colorado pegmatites. It also displays patches of tan colored Feldspar overgrowths on portions of select faces and edges for added interest. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This is a special style and find, noted for the gemmy smoky quartz points, from 2001. Note that, like all such specimens, it has a repair - although most have many repairs and this only has the one contact repair of the far amazonite attaching to the smoky quartz, which is cleanly done and acceptable.
