Perched nicely on a bit of matrix that really elevates the piece, is an incredibly beautiful, limpid, glassy, and gemmy, icy blue crystal of beryl var. aquamarine. It is stunning in person, a top-tier aquamarine with the kind of internal "crystal" clarity that is almost never seen in real life, although we all dream of it. The entire crystal, through and through, is a gem. It is simply startling in person. This was acquired in the late 90s in Tucson and was the finest gem crystal in the Taylor Hunt collection, when we purchased it. It has a shocking effect in the hand - it is not simply "another aqua" as the pics may indicate. It is better in person, literally a GEM gem crystal. Lastly, the termination...is sharp, complex, the ultimate in glassiness and transparency, and simply riveting. You have to see it in person to believe it.
