Poona (Pune) Apophyllites were among the first beautiful fine minerals to come from India that stood above the rest, above the common species, and other finds of apophyllite as well. This material came out in the mid-1980s and still today stands out as unique in style and color combination from modern finds, for the perfect mint color, luster, and fan spray arrangement of crystals. This is a perfectly balanced large thumbnail specimen, showing the classic color that you simply do not see today. It comes as a rare survivor from a time when people in these mines in India did not value, or save, many thumbnail specimens.
