Hoppered crystals are a classic habit for Vanadinite from worldwide locations but rarely seen in such large size outside of Morocco, and therefore this single, complex thumbnail-sized crystal is outstanding. Yuma Mine vanadinites compare favorably with the best United States vanadinites, including the Apache and North Geronimo Mines. This is a lustrous, orange-yellow, hoppered crystal of a great size from Yuma. It is unusually orange, like the color of orpiment, whereas they are generally red - another reason it stands out in a display! From the collection of Shields Flynn.
