This large specimen of botryoidal chalcopyrite, or blister copper as the old miners in Europe called it, is imposing and beautiful in the hand or in a case. This was a small find, and unique material for China that actually looks like old English material on growth hormones. It looks like a miniature in a photo, but is in fact a full-sized cabinet piece, 1175 grams of solid rich coating over a matrix of rock and iron-stained calcites. The subtle complexity is more impactful in person, as it is a very 3-dimensional, organic and biological-looking specimen. The piece is nearly pristine on the display face, one of the larger examples to come from this single small pocket back in early 2020. A spectacular example of something truly new from China, that also simply outdoes all the existing examples from older localities in our opinion. Beyond that, it is simply beautiful.
