This specimen is a stunning gem crystal of 38.6 carats, from the famous gem deposits of Jos. Most such crystals are broken in mining, and few elongated crystals of this size - of any species - are recovered without being already in pieces for the gem market. The color and luster on this is really high and it is obvious that it could have been cut if only a little thicker and fatter, as the saturated color has value. It is terminated sharply! Highly etched, and yet those surface curves and patterns is what makes it so beautiful.
