This is a fine, sharp, robust, gem Topaz crystal from the classic Mogok Gem Tract with textbook form and symmetry typical of these old classics. It is water clear, and transparent, with just a hint of champagne color and excellent glassy luster. It has some internal fracturing on the right side toward the bottom and a few insignificant nicks otherwise a very fine specimen. There are no repairs or restorations, despite the large size. This is an older specimen and absolutely classic for this material. There are very subtle striations on the big lustrous prism faces and the moderately steep, glassy pyramidal faces add to the geometry of the crystal and its aesthetics. There aren't too many Topaz crystals that form such a distinct, textbook habit that characterizes a locale so well as this classic, from the Burma collection of William (Burma Bill) Larson. This strapping crystal has a mass of exactly one kilogram!
