The ArkenstoneFeatured
Rising from a cluster of stubby Quartz crystals is a gem Topaz crystal from the pegmatites at Kyauk-sin mines, Myanmar (Burma). This obscure locality produced some good Topaz crystals as this cute miniature combination piece illustrates. The Topaz has a pale sherry hue to it with sharp faces and edges and re-entrant, or recessed, V-shaped faces on both sides of the termination at the top that add geometric interest and complexity. The two pyramidal faces at the top are also dusted with a fine-grained, scintillating Muscovite crystals. There are four transparent to milky, somewhat flattened Quartz crystals at the base of the Topaz that range in size from 1.1 to 2 cm, all having perfect terminations.
