This is certainly unique from the deposit and is exceedingly attractive for an unusual style of pyrite! The Tongshankou is a mine in the rich orebodies of Daye-Huangshi near to Wuhan. This spectacular piece is just blanketed in glittering finely crystalline, almost botryoidal Pyrite in shimmering, rounded groups from 3 mm to nearly 1 cm across that display colors from metallic yellow and green with local reddish and tones. The rounded Pyrite aggregates cascade down the front of this handsome piece covering the underlying Hematite stained, brown-red matrix Calcite matrix for a colorful and textural contrast. Among the brightest and shiniest minerals you will ever see as a specimen!
