A highly important morganite from the famous Himalaya Mine. These came out so very rarely, in only a few pockets over 100 years of mining. This particular piece has juicy color, almost a peach-pink hue, that was known from the Himalaya. It came out in the late 1970s from mining by Bill Larson and Ed Swoboda here, under the company name Pala Intl. One of these was made famous in Dave Wilber's old display cases in the early 1980s. This piece has a great gemminess and brightness to it. It was put into the company display collection of beryls, for the company store and for education, at that time and has remained there for more than 40 years sitting on its antique plastic laminate label. The specimen is a floater, complete all around 360 degrees, and is gorgeously etched with detailed patterning. 43 grams. Impeccable provenance, as it has been in the personal collection of Bill Larson, who has owned the mine since the day it was found.
