Like cubes of grape jello, this richly-colored cluster of two fluorites have multiple purple phantoms inside, dramatically encapsulated by a nearly colorless zone with just a hint of teal blue. This is a very old style of fluorite form the famous Shangbao Mine, currently closed to economic mining but operated as a tourist site by the locals. It is a style I have not seen since the 1990s, and came out early. For balance, color, impact, this is a special piece, quite unique compared to more modern styles from China. It comes from the expansive Kurt Hefendehl collection, which we acquired in 2021.
