A beautiful and large plate of sparkling Aurichalcite crystals from Bisbee, unusually large and richly covered for material from one of the few rare finds of this copper mineral at the famous copper locality. This is an old-time specimen with mounded aggregates richly covered by bright turquoise colored Aurichalcite crystals that were subsequently coated by a plethora of very small, but glittering, 1 mm Calcite crystals, resulting in a vibrant cabinet specimen. A few areas around the periphery show more freestanding and vividly colored Aurichalcite crystals. Although the mineral is well known from Bisbee, large plates like this are uncommon. It is in fine condition, not perfect but nearly so, and was found in the mid 1960s, or prior. We had only several of these from the Dennis Mullane and Dave Stoudt collections in the past, all similar in style - but this being by far the richest we have seen for sale.
