Pretty much ANY Japanese specimens of quality are hard to get these days, be they rhodochrosites, stibnites or any of the other quite limited collector-quality specimens that have come from there. This topaz is a sharp, limpid, striated gem crystal, and complete all around! There is minor chatter on the edges of the crystal but it doesn't detract at all from the attractiveness of the topaz. A beautiful, full-sized thumbnail from the Shields Flynn collection!
