Aquamarine with Cleavelandite, Muscovite and Quartz

This is a surprisingly unusual combination piece featuring fine mica to contrast against aquamarine, from a small pocket found in 2020. The association is really a little different than others before, and these stand out amongst previous matrix aquamarines because of the contrasts of species in color, and in geometry. This piece is one of the better examples as it features a gemmy aquamarine crystal hugged by a contrasting matrix of mica, albite, and quartz, making for this beautiful cabinet-sized combination piece. The main aquamarine, just shy of 7cm end-to-end, is doubly terminated, with tiny, organic-looking surface textures, almost like flattened little bubbles. Thick, mocha-colored booklets of muscovite are partially coated in a frosting of what seems to be microcrystalline sparkly calcite, and the right side of the piece features a small, teal-colored fluorite nestled amongst the matrix, as well! The mica is metallic and bright in color (rather than the usual silvery type), and it is this combination against blue and white, that will make this pocket most memorable - and these combination pieces, equally so, amidst a crowd of aquamarine. This is the only specimen in the lot with such a freestanding , and doubly-terminated aquamarine. No damage, no repairs!
