This is a totally gem crystal of 100 percent cuttable rough, from the famous gem region of Jos Plateau that also produces emeralds and garnet. Such fine aquamarine is rare for Jos, and to survive from the easily accessed market of cutters for gemstones is all the more nearly impossible. Complete undamaged crystals are hard to come by. This was preserved for over 30 years in the Larson collection of beryls, which kept from being cut. It is a very gemmy, very pristine specimen. 11 grams.
