Unoxidized, bright silver Galena crystals cover and invest a honeycomb structure of milky-white Quartz from Str'bro (Mies) in the Plzen Region of the Czech Republic. The Galena crystals all occur in the cuboctahedral habit, but in many sizes and modified forms. These range between near-equant cuboctahedrons of about 4 mm diameter and broad distorted crystals, 1 cm in diameter and 4 mm thick, appearing more like hexagonal Chalcocite crystals. The Quartz matrix comprises of a honeycomb network of flat, criss-crossing plates, all covered in micro-crystals of bright glassy Quartz. A old and large label accompanies the specimen with quite elaborate handwriting.
