Large perfect calcite crystal formed on an amethyst matrix trimmed out from a larger geode. The first generation of this calcite crystal had a pointed termination and was covered with a second generation of calcite with a hexagonal section, as shown by the tip of the first generation which protrudes clearly from the top of the flat hexagonal face, with the whole having the shape of a scepter, which is unusual for calcite. A small hexagonal crystal calcite lies close to the base of the large crystal.
