A sharp, super-lustrous Calcite crystal with strong orange-amber color due to rich inclusions of Orpiment from early 2000s finds in China. The lustrous Calcite looks like a jewel and is one of the larger and finer examples of this find. It is a stout, sharp, scalenohedron that has excellent translucency and transparency so that yoat you can see right into the crystal to the Orpiment inclusions inside! This jewel was brought out by Ken Roberts. Ken Roberts who was an early contract scout to China working for himself and other dealers before retiring. A good number of the top specimens of the late 1990s-2010 came out through Ken and his extensive travels there. He kept small cabinet specimens for himself, such as this, for a long time until we bought most of them from him. This is literally a jewel that stands on its own on the contacted end.
