This specimen of beautifully crystallised Cassiterite intergrown with colourless Quartz crystals is amazing for the quantity and quality of Cassiterite crystals. For anyone wanting a very fine example of the tin oxide Cassiterite, this could be for you! A large domed mass of cryptocrystalline Quartz is completely covered on all its upper faces with large Cassiterite crystals of between 1 to almost 2 cm across, jet-black and of high lustre, punctuated by occasional terminated colourless Quartz crystals. A magnificent Cassiterite from the tin deposits surrounding the small village of Torrington (named after the village in Devon, England), in Clive County, New South Wales, Australia.
