Tucson, Arizona, USAA quite stunning intergrown group of large 'Jack Straw' type Cerussite crystals from the Broken Hill Mining District in New South Wales, Australia. Until recently this large cabinet specimen was in the collection of a well-known British collector and for any keen collector of Broken Hill material this would make a superb addition. The price tag of $900 is most reasonable as it will certainly stand out in a display of Broken Hill, or any other location for that matter! Individual Cerussite crystals commonly measure around 5 cm tall by 0.5 cm wide and deep, and group to form a open, porous and vuggy intergrown mass. The crystals are opaque to slightly translucent cream with a brushed silky lustre and over some areas a dusting of a black powder-like species adds contrast and highlights.
