A remarkably fine, bright lustrous translucent and sparkling Smithsonite from Berg Aukas in Namibia. The Smithsonite has a lustrous silky crystalline botryoidal surface and a slightly yellow tint to its overall barley and light grey appearance, covering a matrix of red to grey-black banded Goethite. The subtle changes in colour and amazing satin-silky lustre must be emphasised as these features are spectacular to say the least. Berg Aukas is, of course, world famous for its wonderful diversity of Descloizite, a beautiful mineral and a favourite amongst connoisseurs and knowledgeable collectors. This Smithsonite will make a wonderful addition to any such collection, displaying the very best this classic mine has to offer.
