This rather gorgeous, golden-yellow Mimetite simply exudes 'Mexico' and is from the Santa Eulalia Mining District in the state of Chihuahua. A 12 x 4 cm foliated rib of fantastically-coloured limonite matrix is richly strewn with deep yellow to golden-yellow Mimetite crystals of 4 to 8 mm long, all an acicular (needle-like) prismatic habit and some double-terminated. Adding to the aesthetic, some areas of the Mimetite crystals are blushed orange-pink. Also occasionally scattered over the surface are lustrous gemmy hexagonal prismatic Calcite crystals. Showy and beautiful!
