Lustrous intergrown blocky crystals of Hedenbergite from the Broken Hill ore body in New South Wales, Australia. Hedenbergite is a rare calcium-iron silicate and is a member of the Pyroxene Group. Deep olive green Hedenbergite crystals measuring to 1.5 cm exhibit patchy areas of light olive green and are associated with a little Galena. Crystallised Hedenbergite specimens are seldom seen from the Broken Hill mines and this is a particularly good example.
