Pyromorphite
Unknown Owner
A fabulous intergrown group of Pyromorphite crystals from the find made a few years ago at the Daoping mine in China. Although rare, specimens of this quality do surface from time to time. Excellent double terminated hexagonal crystals of intensely lime-green Pyromorphite with subtle yet well-defined lemon-yellow terminations measure to 1 cm and appear to be stacked upon one another, forming a fine display specimen. The terminations are flat pinacoids, the prisms are mainly parallel, although occasionally slightly barrel-shaped, and all have a dazzling and gorgeous glassy lustre. The base shows the Pyromorphite to sit on a brecciated milky-white Quartz cemented with Pyromorphite. A first-class specimen from the Daoping mine in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.
