A small yet most striking specimen of well crystallised Anglesite, coated by a thin film of opaque chalky-white Hydrocerussite and surrounded by a granular matrix containing rich patches of bright sky-blue Linarite and dull green Malachite. The principle Anglesite (lead sulphate) crystal forms a steep four-sided pyramid measuring 1.3 cm high by 1.0 x 0.8 cm at its base, made all the more striking by the smooth surface coating of white Hydrocerussite (basic lead carbonate). Linarite (copper lead sulphate hydroxide) is a rare mineral at the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, where this specimen is from and indicates it was mined in the early years (late 1890s to early 1900s) while still in either the supergene or First Oxidation Zone.
