A beautiful bright metallic yellow specimen of Native Gold from the famous Mockingbird mine in Mariposa County, California, USA. The crystallized Native Gold forms a flat, sheet-like small miniature with branching developments to one side. The Gold encompasses many grains of small, 1 to 2 mm colourless and glassy Quartz. A rarely seen Native Gold from this mine which worked a slate and greenstone-hosted gold vein deposit between the 1890s and 1920, and was reopened briefly during the early 2000s.
