Tucson, Arizona, USAA most unusual Pyromorphite from the Daoping mine in Gongcheng County, Guilin Prefecture, China. As is usually the case, the entire specimen is composed of Pyromorphite, with the outer shell cemented with interstitial Quartz and Limonite. The geometry of the matrix has formed a narrow elongated open pocket that is completely lined with a drusy coating of Pyromorphite ranging from light lime-green to lemon-mustard-yellow. This thick coating forms folded curtains and ribs of lustrous Pyromorphite with occasional sprays of Pyromorphite crystals scattered over the surface. A beautiful and fascinating habit of Pyromorphite from the classic Daoping mine.
