A magnificent Calcite specimen from the Egremont mining district of west Cumbria. Colourless and glassy modified scalenohedral Calcite crystals to 3 cm cover a matrix of earthy limonitic Hematite. Almost all the crystals are perfectly formed with very little or no damage and form a specimen which typifies these classic and much sought after west Cumberland Calcites.
