A superb and aesthetic group of Siderite pseudomorphs after barrel-shaped Calcite crystals from Aggeneys in the Namakwa District of Northern Cape Province, South Africa. Although not recorded on with the specimen, it is most probably from the Broken Hill mine located in this area. The pseudomorphs, or possibly epimorphs, measure to 7 cm tall and are varying shades of biscuit tan, ranging from caramel-white chocolate to golden-caramel. These magnificent pseudomorphs (or epimorphs) sit on porous, granular etched colourless Calcite, and are probably filled with this material also. A splendid specimen of this well known material from Aggeneys in South Africa.
