An excellent rich specimen of well-formed Ludlamite crystals measuring to 1.4 cm intergrown over a brown to black drusy surface of Siderite coating Goethite. This specimen is from the famous find made several years ago at the Cabeza do Cachorro mine in Amazonas, Brazil. Ludlamite is a hydrated iron-manganese-magnesium phosphate named for the English mineralogist Henry Ludlam (1824–1880) and whose type locality is the Wheal Jane mine close of the city of Truro in Cornwall, England. The Ludlamite crystals on this small cabinet specimen all have good lustre and contrast perfectly against the Siderite and Goethite. It is a terrific example of the species with great lustre.
