The combination of translucent milky Calcite crystals distributed amongst, and pierced by, broad acicular blades of dark silver metallic Stibnite to 2.5 cm long. The Calcite forms flattened rhombohedral crystals, many with a rounded, 'flying-saucer' habit which 'hover' between the Stibnite crystals, skewered by the Stibnite and often with the Stibnite tips protruding through. A terrific and aesthetic specimen from Herja mine at Chiuzbaia in Baia Mare, Romania. The specimen is displayed on a clear polished acrylic base.
