A sculptural specimen of Calcite crystals on Chrysocolla/Malachite from the Crowgarth Mine, Cleator Moor, Cumbria. Platey stacked crystals of Calcite are translucent with a hint of green in them. The crystals of Calcite have formed on a bubbly-botryoidal white-blue Chrysocolla/Malachite. While copper mineralization is not unheard of in the Iron Orefields of west Cumbria, it is by no means common.
