NATIVE Copper
A superb cabinet specimen of arborescent, crystallised Native Copper from the famous Copper Mining area of the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan, USA. The Native Copper forms elongated crystals to 2.2 cm which branch out either side of the main stems, the latter forming the primary skeleton of the specimen. The Native Copper has a characteristic, aged copper red patina. As is typical of many such specimens, the Copper branches form more a two-dimensional structure, most likely having been constrained within in a narrow fracture. It is a superb specimen and, standing at just over 11 cm tall, make a most impressive display piece.\n
